Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies, such as local storage, let a site save information in your browser. Together they help a website function, remember your preferences, and understand how it is used.
How we use them
ApplyLift is built to be light on cookies. We use the following categories:

| Essential | Required for the site to load and function securely. These cannot be switched off. |
| Authentication | Keep you signed in to your account so your resumes and cover letters load securely on every visit. |
| Preferences | Remember choices such as your settings within the builder (stored in cookies or local storage). |
| Analytics | We use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to understand how the Service is used — pages visited and features used — so we can improve it. It stores identifiers in cookies and local storage; if you are signed in, usage may be associated with your account. |
| Payment | If you purchase a plan, our payment provider may set cookies needed to process the transaction securely. |
Third-party cookies
Some cookies and storage entries are set by third parties we rely on: our payment provider during checkout, and PostHog, our analytics provider. These providers operate under their own privacy and cookie policies.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking essential or authentication cookies will sign you out and may cause parts of the Service to stop working. To learn how to manage cookies, consult your browser help documentation.
